Low voltage lighting
Did you ever drive past a house at night and the landscape catches your eye?
That’s because they probably have a low voltage lighting system illuminating the highlights of the garden. Up lighting on trees, pathway lights leading to the homes entrance or a water feature lit with reflections glistening in the night.
These features are often overlooked when planning your gardens but very easy to install afterwards. Outdoor lighting can be very unique to suit your property with architectural elements or simple and un-assuming designs.
If you’re interested in lighting up your nights call us at 774-2025.
Winter where are you?
As far as PA Landscape Group Inc. is concerned, where ever winter went, it can stay. We have been busy throughout December and January with Hardscaping crews working through the cold, and maintenance crews have been completing Dormant pruning. All with just two snow episodes which the crews quickly removed.
The yearly PA Landscape Group letters with Work Authorization forms have been sent out to all customers who had work done in 2011, these letters explain any changes concerning our company. The Authorization forms are for the services you would like us to perform at your residence or place of business for the 2012 season and should be returned to us so we can place you on the schedules for those services. If you did not receive or have misplaced the form and would like one just call Lori at the office 774-2025.
John and Brendan have been busy designing new projects for Spring. So now is the time to contact us if you are looking to have a new project done in 2012. In addition to working on ongoing projects, some of the crews have been staying at the shop installing an Outdoor Kitchen in our display area. If you haven’t been by to see us in a few years, we have an ongoing project just outside the office which includes patios, with various pavers to help customers in selecting color and pattern, block, walls, a pergola, fireplace, lighting, plantings and a wonderful pondless waterfall.
We are planning on having a Grill-a-palooza this spring when the weather is nice, details to come later, hope to see you there.
Spring or Summer Annual Plantings
A homes landscape should be grounded with trees, shrubs, and perennials. To enhance the plantings with continual color consider adding annual plantings in the beds. I think of annuals like the jewelry of the garden- something I can change with the seasons. Spring pansies or primroses in yellows and purples compliment the blooming bulbs that bring the first signs of color. Summer offers many varieties from soft Sweet Alyssum to the bold colors of Zinnias.
If you would like us to fill your gardens with color any season call us at 774-2025.
Featured Project. The project on the below was completed in 2011. This project features a roofed 12 x 18’ pavilion with custom columns and ceiling fan. Under the pavilion is a custom island for the Homeowners grill and refrigerator and a consol for the TV. The paver patio and walks included detailed banding and a ‘rug’ inlay in front of the custom Tuscany fireplace, hearth and wood boxes. The project is enhanced with low voltage lighting, and softened with exquisite plantings.
Creating an atmosphere to entertain or relax in just outside your back door is what we excel at, if you are interested in having any project done this year, now is the time to contact our designers so the planning can begin.

The Many ways we can help you Maintain your Property
Spring Clean Up- just as it implies it’s usually done in Spring and includes trimming back any perennials, cleaning beds of debris and leaves as well as any weeds that have popped up, spreading a pre-emergent weed control which helps prevent weeds from sprouting (this does not kill existing weeds), applying merit (insecticide) to shrubbery, edging the beds with a clean line and then finally mulching.
Nothing makes a home more beautiful than freshly tended beds.
Trimming- of shrubbery and small trees should be done at least once a season to keep them well groomed and disease free, some customers prefer both an early and a late trimming. When trimming is done we can also fertilize both small trees and shrubs.
Weeding- Beds should be weeded at least on a monthly basis to keep them looking great and for the health of the other plants. A pre-emergent being applied can help but you will still need to routinely pluck weeds or spray with a weed killer.
Fall Clean Up- We also offer a cleanup in the late fall when most of the leaves have fallen which includes, raking out the beds, cutting down perennials, light trimming, gathering the leaves and cutting a crisp edge on the beds. This does not usually include mulching unless requested. We also offer weekly leaf removal through out the fall.
Dormant pruning- Is done in mid-Winter to many small trees and shrubs, and is one of our most effective tools to properly establish branching structure.
We offer many other services but the above maintenance is what we recommend be done to keep you property healthy and looking its best to protect the investment you have made in your landscape!
For any of the above services give us a call 774-2025
